A blue stripe shirt is a chic addition to your 2025 spring/summer capsule wardrobe. In 2024, when the guardian wrote an opinion piece on the trend, I made a mental note of it but never took any active step to purchasing one. It’s 2025 and I’m delighted to know I am not late to the stripe trend– which l’ve worn in a different color in a recent blog post. In today’s post, I am styling a stripe shirt in a popular soft pastel blue and I tell people it’s a must-have. Pairing my blue stripe shirt with a white pant has left me feeling like a spectator at a polo club event.

HOW I STYLE A BLUE STRIPE SHIRT

A classic blue striped shirt is a wardrobe essential for spring and summer. To elevate this look, I’ve kept my accessories and styling minimal, opting for a pulled-back hair, cat-eye sunglasses, and elongated wide-leg Zara pants, which I’ve owned since 2022. Although simple to put together, the outfit feels breezy and coordinated and instead of a pump heel, I have chosen to finish this look with a BCBGGirl sandal heel. I’ve also chosen a small purse from Longchamp, which I wore in this previous post. My choice of earring is deliberate to bring the look together and call out the contrasting colors on my shirt.

QUESTIONS I AM ASKING MYSELF THIS SPRING
a nice spring day outdoors is the portal to spark my reflection for the first quarter. During my reflection, I ask myself many questions—like how well I am sticking to my short or long term plans of the year, what am I learning, and when do I begin to pivot to ensure my year doesn’t fall flat. It’s also a time to assess what I am reading and to explore literature written and recommended by my peers. I have found joy in reading others’ work this year, especially seeing that there is a return to publishing long-form content.

Who I am Reading
I read writers whose content I would have written had I committed myself to the path of being a writer. One of the earliest substack I subscribed to was Sherry Ning whose intro phrase is “I write about experiences you’ve felt but don’t know how to describe. Serious half the time.” Sherry’s substack is as described, raw and true, and unconsciously I look forward to reading her content in my inbox.

I find it gratifying knowing that we are back to a writing culture. For 3 years (feels shorter than the damage it did), short video clips on platforms like Instagram and TikTok felt like the future of media and then Substack happened. The popularity of Substack which requires little technical “know-how” but a love for writing has pushed people to think about alternative forms of distributing their work. It is to that end that I have been inspired to revive my fashion newsletterwhich goes out monthly.
But my fashion win this quarter is getting into the most coveted subscriber list of Rachel Seville Tashjian Opulent Tips an invite-only newsletter. If you know, you know! Reddit groups have discussed how to be part of the subscriber list so you know how being on this list is a big deal. The newsletter which is heavy on text and low in images has enough links to make all the difference.

If you made it to this point, thanks for reading. I am curious what is your favorite spring trend and what are you reading?
