SURVIVING FIRST YEAR OF GRADUATE SCHOOL

Hello loves, I am back thank you for sticking through, I had school to deal with, a bad computer also. As my first year in graduate school finally winds down, one song comes to mind by Alan Jackson.

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

I am learning the subtle art of living my problems to God because I can’t think solve my problem away. Graduate school is tasking to say the least and I school in Washington where the best brains collide. They bear tales of their triumphs, internships, scholarships and grades, and in comparison to them if man were to make the rules, I would not be found in this category.

My first semester was daunting, I started to see myself in a not so positive light, I was suicidal, partly broke. Grades came in and did not look good my tuition looked like it wasn’t going to be paid, but hey all those experiences built me to be a better person. Fast forward to this semester, things are not perfect but in Ice Prince voice (things are not the same as before)

I’m wading through this thing called life on God’s sparkle. A few lesson that re-emphasized themselves;

  • Don’t burn bridges, we need people because we cannot solve all of lives problem by ourselves.
  •  Study to show yourself approved.
  • good things take time.
  • know your worth and bring it to the table.

At the end of the day, I am counting my triumphs and look forward to implementing the lessons through future challenges.
