How to Style Son de Flor Vintage Dress

How to style a vintage A-line Son de Flor cute and adorable dress in today’s post. I have decided to dress to switch things up from the classic tea-style look to street fashion, which is usually not the norm. But I find my fashion comfort at the intersection of both vintage and street style.

In today’s post, I am sharing a vintage look from a favorite vintage brand, Son de Flor, and I am excited to be working with them for the rest of the year.

I love pieces from Son de Flor, because the quality is top notch, the delivery timeline is excellent and the linen material sits well on the skin. Son de Flor Vintage A-line Dress Evolution

Something that has been apparent with the evolution of fashion in recent times is that vintage clothing is constantly revisited and spinned for a modern feel. But sometimes, the style remains the same, for example, the silhouette of the classic ankle length A-line dress, which is similar to what I am wearing today, dates back to the 60’s.

However, giving a modern interpretation to the A-line dress requires a radical switch- to make it fit for street style. Oftentimes when the A-line dress is worn, it is paired with a head net, or a beret, and all buttons pinned up. In today’s look, I have decided to approach the look differently, styling my burgundy A-line dress unbuttoned, with a bandana to match. 

Styling a Vintage Dress for Street Fashion

I felt this look is revolutionary (Grace please). But on a more serious note, I thought this was a great concept. I kept the basics, pairing the look with a belt and a court heel. The reason an A-line gown remains a classic, is that it elevates a woman’s feel of herself, and without limit, allows her ease into any social class she finds herself in.  

As I mentioned in the opening paragraph, styling an A-line outfit to make it fit for street style is not a risk most fashion enthusiasts are willing to take. But I hope this look inspires people to do the same. For the most part of this year, I have been a keen fashion observer and I love the different interpretations that have been given to vintage pieces.
