THE THINGS TO DO IN YOUR 20’s

Hello loves, I have my exams tomorrow and a lot of papers to write and read but this particular topic has been on my draft for over a week now, and I have decided its time to publish. I stalled this conversation because I wasn’t sure my opinion was popular opinion or if I was bringing something new to the table and I will allow y’all be the judge of this, as lately twenty something seems to be the year everyone has an opinion about.

20 is that year where you’re fresh off teenage blues and your last love into your 20’s has broken your heart. He is either off to the abroad or y’all can’t keep up with teenage love and the sense of maturity sets in. Alas! you realize also that you’re gradually being left to solve your problems and find solution to some of the obscure challenges life begins to throw your way without total control.

However, your 20’s is the time you make mistakes, recover, make fewer mistakes, recover, try not to make mistakes and become your own boss. It is also the year you don’t make mistakes that you can’t recover from especially in this i-Age where everyone is moving at a fast pace and you don’t want to be left behind. It is different if your learning or growth process is slow, you are moving and that is what matters.
I’ll love to point that people tend to repeat some terrible mistakes in their 20’s and it comes with the believe that time is on your hands, in a way that is true and in another way you are far from the truth.

Listen to your parents: In your 20’s find yourself, what works for you, what doesn’t and watch your parents closely, listen to how they have maneuvered life and pick a lesson or two to apply.
Learn Skills: In your early 20’s time is on your hands to pick skills, intern at that organization for reference purposes and start to form a solid base of friends. These friends stir and ginger you towards the right path and call you back when you are derailing from specific purpose
Write your 10 year goals down: I’m not good at this, but whenever I do it works. Writing down goals is a challenge to oneself to strive towards not letting yourself down. This cannot be achieved by your own muscle, back it up with prayers.
Know God: This is so important because wisdom is profitable to direct. A personal relationship with God allows you know your self worth, your power and also realize that God used a number of people and helped them form their character in their 20’s and by 30’s they knew how to walk their talk.
Find Love: I know that we don’t awaken love until it is the right time, but get to know what love feels like, when the pressure isn’t there to get married soon and know what works for you and how you can manage yourself from mistakes you will make (because you will make them).
Sleep, read and enjoy your solitude: I know I bicker a lot about being single and to be honest, as much as I want to be in a relationship (personal confession) I also want to be left alone (can I get a witness). Read books and form your own scholarly knowledge, sleep because there are years ahead when these moments will be priceless and sometimes sit and enjoy being in your white space.
Create: At the near end of your twenties, it dawns on you that you are now way past spoon feeding age, its time to realize that people need your talent, potential and abilities to push for the course of greater good. What are you passionate about and how can you inspire and impact using that with the affordances around you?
Find yourself: One issue with the 20’s is having so much personalities being formed its hard to stick with one and in that process your identity is unknown. Find yourself and be that.
Push boundaries and beat records: In your 20’s the years of reckless abandon, your energy should be geared towards being the best version of yourself. but at the same time allow yourself to make mistakes and forgive yourself, however don’t settle for anything less than awesomeness.
Friends: In your 20’s make friends that matter, who are strategically placing themselves in the right places and who are willing to contribute to your growth with their resources however minimal.

I think today’s post is way longer than I expected, so I’ll pause here and allow for your contributions to know what will you advice someone in their 20’s to do? Also in your 20’s marry the love of your life and enjoy the spouse God has given you in your youth.

My favorite about this is finding yourself and friends. I really think finding oneself in this current time is one of the most difficult things but very worth it because it then gave me a clear picture of who i really want to be. This is a very helpful post and you look Fab in that dress.
