I did an earlier draft on this last year and sort of ignored it because I’m not one to be in the limelight for something negative. However, this is my open diary and its great to come back to this post, years later and laugh at how I felt. It’s also sad that the only time you get the engagement of your followers and people who claim to support you is when you are shedding light on something negative.
So lets talk about fake friendships on social media and how it is important to protect your space. Don’t get me wrong, I have met some amazing incredible people on social media, but sometimes the wheat and the chaff are together and it is important you separate them. I want to believe that I am a loyal person and when I embrace people I do it in all honesty, but I’m learning the hard way to be cautious of who I open up too because not everyone has your best interest.
There is something about putting your life out there and showing your success and failures, people tend to use your story line to plot their game. Like chess they find out how to be in your life when the going is good and when its not, their exit game is strong.
“Like chess they find out how to be in your life when the going is good and when its not, their exit game is strong”.
Last year I learn’t my lesson in the worst and best way possible and although I still keep those fake friends on my chat list, I know my boundaries. It is important to know a problem exist it gives you a better and clear picture on how to solve it.

I feel this way not just about people online but people in real life too. Sad but I feel like it's practical not to open up to everybody. Like you said, you have to be cautious.

True, despite us being cautious I feel people should still be human.

This is so true everyone is trying to be friendly for their own interest and once their achieve it they're gone. This days it's so hard to see who truly loves you for real, the fake love is gradually overshadowing the real love!

Haha we will discern by force but we learn along the way.

I agree, we all have to be cautious about who we open up to. Love the jumpsuit, you rock it so well. Congrats on the Guardian feature as well! xx

Your analysis of social media friendships is very interesting. I had some bad experiences on MySpace, Facebook, Disqus, and YouTube (hateful false-flagging bigots and trolls) but thankfully the vast majority of fashion beauty and lifestyle bloggers are sweet, and I feel like I've made some good (and some possibly fake) friends on Twitter, though there are trolls and Tweeps who block others easily too.
That jumpsuit is pretty – I love the print and the design. You look gorgeous in all of these photos and you have a beautiful smile!

I hope many more people come to the place where they're actually tired of fakes. Isn't it so exhausting? Are we completely void of the understanding that we could be parasites in a relationship or we just have sold out consciences; aware of only: "WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?" Every opportunity you get to exploit someone, lie to them, take advantage, is an equal opportunity to be truthful, offer something great you have, and build a beautiful relationship (it musn't even be a forever long kind of relationship; beautiful while it lasts) I hope we do better.
If the picture didn't do enough justice, I'm wondering the work of art it must be cause it's really great on you.
