Summer is finally here! Along with curating a vibrant wardrobe, I’m determined to clear the fog that’s lingered over my routine since last fall. Lately, I’ve felt a bit lost, struggling to check items off my to-do list and barely making progress on the goals I set for myself this year. The weight of my unachieved ambitions has slowly turned into guilt, and it’s time for a reset.
Usually, summer is when I count my wins and let that euphoria fuel me for the rest of the year. But this summer feels different, and honestly, I have myself to blame. Poor screen habits, lack of accountability, and time management have let my goals slip away, slowly eating at my progress like a woodpecker on bad wood.

Reflecting this past weekend, I asked myself some tough questions: How did I get into this funk? And why haven’t I worked harder to change it?
This is where I get honest with myself. I’ve become complacent with my big dreams in my pursuit of comfort. Creatively, I haven’t really shown up, and professionally, I haven’t taken on new challenges. Wins are fewer and farther between. But it’s not too late to get back on track.

Work from MyDesk:
As comfy as my bed is (shoutout to Burrow), working from it isn’t helping my productivity. I can’t connect my laptop to multiple screens, and my work slows down. So, in the coming months, I’m committing to working from my desk more often to boost efficiency.

Set Timers to Limit Screen Time:
I’ll be honest—my phone connects me to the world, but it also steals my focus. This second half of the year, I’m holding myself accountable and drastically cutting back screen time. My plan? Use my phone to create, write, and share my work—but limit social media scrolling to just two hours a day. Instead of defaulting to endless news or basketball gossip, I’ll pick up a pet project, read, or just sit in the garden and reflect.
Sleep Earlier
I used to think staying up late was a creative superpower—the quiet was perfect for focus. But I’d wake up groggy and irritable. Now, I’m aiming to get to bed early so I can wake up refreshed and use those peaceful early hours to create and set myself up for success.
Get Medical Support:
I’ll admit, my routine hasn’t improved on its own. Sometimes, when nothing else works, it’s smart to seek expert advice. Instead of guessing, I’m open to getting a real medical diagnosis to figure out what’s going on and set myself up for success.
Network Better
Here’s the simple truth—I need to talk about my work and put myself out there for new opportunities. I’m still adjusting to life in a new country, but hey, what’s life without a few lessons along the way?
I love leaning into soft tones for summer, and right now, ivory is my go-to. Check out my recommendations for styling this look
