SPRING HAS SPRUNG, BUT NO ONE OUTSIDE

The word ‘outside’- brings with it simplified complexities in these uncertain times. For so many, the rest of the year will no longer remain the same, as some would have to move on without loved ones, or begin the process of rebuilding careers, homes, and income.

In previous years at this time spring happens, heralded by blossoming flowers. Sadly, current events has overtaken what it feels like to watch the flowers bloom. To lighten the mood, and make y’all think of outdoors, I have attached ‘The Arbutus- A Vintage Spring Poem’ for a reminder that good days are ahead.

The Arbutus

Of all the Spring’s belovéd,
Oh fair and fickle Spring,
Not one except Arbutus,
Can trust what She will bring
The rest, one year, get blossoms,
In punctual sunshine bright.
The next, thay wait and shiver
bud droops in icy blight.
Arbutus, witch, and lover

Has forged for Spring such chain
However far She wanders,
She’s back on time again.
And whether snows have melted,
or lie all solid white,
Arbutus’ blossoms blossom,
Their rosy cups all right.
And happy youths and maidens
Its secret haunts who know,
Go confident to seek it,

And find it neath the snow.

Of all the Spring’s beloved,
Of all that She can bring,
Y She’ll give us Arbutus,
The rest may wait all Spring!

It is so true that one of the many joys of Spring is seeing the flowers bloom.
Speaking of flowers, I love the floral print on your dress, the ruffled cap sleeves, and the minifloral print on the inset around the bodice and at the ruffled asymmetrical hem.
    You look fabulous wearing it.
