Falling in love with an oatmeal and a maple syrup recipe is not how I envisioned my 2022 to start. Oh yes, I am late to the party. I agree, oatmeal is really an elite breakfast menu. It can be spawned in so many different directions that you begin to loose track.
One of the first things I decided to change this year was my breakfast routine. For years, I was a sandwich, or pancake for breakfast kind of girl. I decided on oatmeal because you know everyone makes it seem like this cool thing to have and you know what, they’re not wrong.
I always thought of oatmeal as a boring choice for breakfast, because where I came from it was not as garnished, you just had it with milk and that was it.
So, when I moved to the states and there was a lot of brouhaha about oatmeal, there was a lot of hesitation. However, 2022 is about trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone again. Also, there is the health benefit of it which you can read about here.
My first step was to decide what type of toppings I’ll love with my oatmeal. There are a lot of oatmeal recipes on the internet with banana, chai seeds, granola, berries as suggestions.
There is also the recommended topping suggested found on the oatmeal packaging and that’s what I went with. But as time went on I began to experiment with other add-ons, like hazelnut chips and chia seeds. Although I am a newbie at this, I recently discovered a recipe with maple syrup that blended well with the other toppings.

Recipe & How to Make
A full cup of the Quaker oat added to a similar cup of boiling water allow to boil for 8 minutes and then cool. Add as much milk as will make you content.
